Admission Requirement

  • Pass in College Preparatory Examination, or pass COC examination for related TVET graduates. The field requires competent skill in mathematics, physics, drawing and English language courses.

Career Scope

  • Competent engineer to design and construct Civil engineering structures; prepare complete drawing and design details of buildings, highway and bridges, dams, water treatment plants and their structures with detailed specifications, contract documents and bill of quantities; read, analyses and understand technical drawings and specifications; conduct inspection and supervision by checking and measuring works for accuracy and fit to specification; detect and identify design problems /faults/ by justifying the cause and detail requirements of adjustment or redesign and recommend measures; create new ideas and apply scientific theories and principles to produce economic designs and construct efficiently; adapt construction materials, equipment, machines and other technological outputs to local needs; manage efficiently construction works and integrate constraints and requirements of both manpower and construction machines; active participant in research projects, discoveries and consultancy services
